FAMILY EDUCATION AND TRAINING AIDS

 

Children learn easily from the known (what they see, touch, interact with). The Messiah taught people about important truths from nature or things they knew. Family Education and Training aids can be their house, their garden, community, school, equipment they use, means of transport, and story-telling.

Nature is a teacher. A family house is a teacher too and it is also shelter (protection). Children should be taught or trained to learn or be reminded daily about life principles when they see their house from outside and when they enter every room.

Living together in one house that is providing a family with protection means that they should also protect one another as long as they are living under one roof.

Such education aids like a house/home should be seen as messengers or carriers of valuable lessons to every family member. The WISE will learn and hear what their house and every room is saying to them and teaching them daily. What knowledge and counsel are you hearing from your house and its various rooms, and are you implementing what you are hearing? Everything you see around you should teach you something positive.

Let us look at few examples of a house rooms and see if we can learn something positive:

·         HOUSE – This is a dwelling place. It is a place of shelter, protection, care, growth, refuge and training.  It is not a place of torment or hell. Therefore, the family should protect each other just like their house or home is providing shelter to them.

·         TOILET – This depicts FORGIVENESS because it flushes out of the home waste matter. If waste matter keeps on piling without being flushed away the whole house starts smelling and becomes unhygienic to stay in. Flushing away (forgiveness) prevents bad smells and accumulation of waste matter. Family members who are living in un-forgiveness have their relationships as bad as the smell from un-flushed waste matter. Forgiveness brings beauty, sweetness, refreshing fragrance and an environment conducive to positivity.

·         KITCHEN – This depicts PROVISION in the home. Parents and guardians should strategise on how to provide for their family. They need to work and provide, trusting God as their helper. This is one of their roles - to provide for their home. This does not require laziness or being without strategy. It is their responsibility.

·         BATHROOM – This depicts SANCTIFICATION where they have to clean themselves from every negative attitude, bad manners and every unclean and undesirable conduct or treatment, including unfaithfulness, mistrust, hatred, manipulation, injustice, and anything destructive or retrogressive. Mindsets, attitudes, conduct, decisions, and relations should be cleaned daily.

·         SITTING (TV) ROOM – place of fellowship or companionship. It depicts socialising. It is not for quarrelling. The family should learn to socialise together. This should promote friendship.

·         BEDROOM – This depicts place of LOVE (source) that is expected to spread to the whole house. It is also a place of privacy.

·         DINING ROOM – it is a place of EATING together as a family. It also shows acceptance and TRUST. It is important to eat together as a family instead of separately in other rooms.
